TACKLE TWILL:
Tackle twill is a form of applique.
Whereas applique is made of designs or shapes, tackle twill is a combination of letters, numbers or designs cut from a piece of
fabric that are sewn onto a garment with a zigzag, satin or double running stitch.
This method of apparel decoration is most commonly seen on sports team uniforms, consisting of the team logo, player’s name, and number.
APPLIQUE:
Applique is a shape cut from a piece of fabric and stitched to
another, to create, add dimension and texture to a design.
In the decorated apparel industry, instead of
embroidering a large area, using applique can lessen embroidery stitch count. Applique usually has a solid column border stitching, unlike tackle twill, which has a zigzag, satin or double running stitch.
